The story
Where water meets stone
Casa de las Libélulas began with a moment of recognition. The first time we saw Entrepeñas reservoir from this terrace, we knew we weren't leaving. Durón, with its almost secret tranquillity and the light bouncing off the water, has something you won't find anywhere else.
The house had been waiting for years for someone to listen to it. We renovated it with care, respecting its stone walls and wooden beams, and adding what we'd always wanted: good chairs, a proper kitchen, and a terrace you never want to leave.
The dragonflies have been here much longer than we have. We spotted them the first summer and decided they were the perfect symbol: delicate but precise, always close to the water.
The space
Design with character, without pretension
Every piece in the house has a purpose. The live-edge dining table, the Eames lounge chairs beside the USM shelving, the wooden worktop and gas hob in the kitchen. Nothing from a generic catalogue: we chose natural materials, craftsmanship and objects that improve with age.
The result is a house that feels lived-in, with personality — where the design doesn't compete with the landscape but frames it.
