La Alcarria has that. A spectacular sunrise and a magical light that falls over the reservoir in the late afternoon, starry skies, the scent of thyme, rosemary and pine resin, a silence that does not overwhelm but frees. Casa de las Libélulas was born from the conviction that this kind of beauty—the quiet kind, the one that needs no filters—deserves a space where it can be experienced calmly. We did not want to build accommodation. We wanted to create a refuge. Far from the noise and pollution of everyday life. Where silence is not something you seek. It is already there, waiting for you.

The house had been waiting for years for someone to listen to it. We renovated it with care, respecting its stone walls and wooden beams, and adding what we'd always wanted: good chairs, a proper kitchen, and a terrace you never want to leave.

The dragonflies have been here much longer than we have. We spotted them the first summer and decided they were the perfect symbol: delicate but precise, always close to the water.
